I grew up in a very artistic family. My father worked with wood, my mother was a life long painter. My brother and sister were very creative growing up as well. When my mother was in college for art, art projects she did in college, she brought home the left overs and I was able to work in different mediums. From oil and acrylic paints to paper mâché, origami, paper collages, balsam wood, string art, op art, and perspective art. As children we won city Valentines and Halloween contests, and student art contests at the state fair in Wisconsin.  I loved doing art since I could remember.

When I moved to the Minnesota I attended the Minneapolis Atelier of Fine Art  off and on for  years as a part time evening  student where I was taught life size drawing, painting and color theory. This type of classical training  helped me focus on values and realism. I self taught myself by copying some master painters techniques. I've dabble in slip pouring, firing and painting porcelain, paper mâché, and stained glass and I've taught classes on the stained glass foil method.

Creating art fills me with energy. It's therapeutic,  it takes me out of the cares and concerns of the world and I enter the realm of imagination, color, and beauty. Hours slip by without notice, energy just flows, and creativity outcome amazes even my self. It's fun yet there is  discipline in honing a craft, learning along the way in hope of portraying beauty in ways that move others.  I encourage everyone to be creative, artistic, and to just have fun creating art.
